Many of us want to improve ourselves and our skills, but most of us, including me may wonder how to do it in a more efficient way. Here are some tips I combined after studying the psychology of success and self-development. Do not rush to read the last tip . All of them are connected with each other. Here we go!!!
1. Self-discipline is crucial
To achieve more goals, you have to improve your self-discipline. Nothing will happen if you are not capable of managing yourself. In order to follow your study plan, you need self-discipline. If want to extend your vocabulary, you need self-discipline. A good student always can stop thinking about unnecessary stuff while studying and find his/her focus on the subject matter quickly. If you read all sources about great minds, you will definitely find out that they could manage themselves. I hope you are a good student J.
2. Show your work to the world
Do not be afraid to show yourself. This world is not going to help you unless people will see who you are. It could be difficult at first, but it does not mean it is impossible! Do not listen to people who say “You can’t do this”, “You can’t say that” or “It has never been done before”. I love when people say so because then I do it and I say it! If you are good at something, show it to the world. Take part in competitions and show the world how great you are. Become a leader, not a follower!
3. Re-organize your day
My advice is to have a small notebook where you will have to write a to-do list every morning and check whether you did them or not at the end of each day. Why? Because your brain is funny. When you write your plan down, your mind will try to do it automatically. So, if you write “I have to learn Passive Voice”, you will put a tick in your notebook faster. That is just a mechanism. You could divide your plan into sub-plans if you wish. Without planning, you are not able to be self-disciplined! See, connection?
4. Read books as much as you can
Make reading useful books for improving memory, speed-reading, and etc. your habit because they will give you a basis to improve yourself. For instance, the first book I have read was the book by Brian Tracy How to Control Time and it helped me make these tips. You could either listen to audiobooks as well. These books or audiobooks might give you a little piece of inspiration. Meanwhile, the strategies that you learn from these books are very helpful in your future studies and life as well.
5 . Read the Internet resource
Read life-hack blogs, posts and Tweets. In Facebook, I have found a page called `Lifehack` that I mentioned in my previous post about self-studying. These pages contain very useful information about anything, from keyboard shortcuts to cracking machines and etc. Why do you have to learn all that? Well …, to improve yourself, you have to read, see, hear and experience something. You will find some pages as a helpful material for your research or guide to develop new helpful skills. This kind of pages will broaden your horizons and the way you think.
Well, I have found the truth of life and it is `Nothing is gonna be easy`. Sorry for my informal English . By these techniques, you could evolve your way of learning not only English but other subjects as well. These tips helped me realize the world and my abilities. Cheers!
